BROOKLYN,NY– Police are investigating the death of a 23-year-old prisoner stabbed on Sunday during a fight with other prisoners over an improvised weapon.
Police said that Eijad Mohamed Ali, who was on remand on a simple larceny charge, accused three other prisoners of stealing the weapon. Ali was relieved of the weapon, and a fight started between him and one of the three prisoners.
It was during that fight; he was stabbed repeatedly to his abdomen. He was rushed to the Georgetown Hospital, where he died while being treated.
The three prisoners involved in the confrontation have since been separated from the general population and could face charges about the murder.
