New York, NY– 32BJ SEIU endorsed Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams for mayor today, giving Adams another big endorsement for his campaign. 32BJ represents more than 175,000 cleaners, property maintenance workers, doorkeepers, security officers, window cleaners, building engineers, and school and food service workers.

The union’s president, Kyle Bragg, formally announced the endorsement in Brooklyn’s Cadman Plaza, surrounded by 32BJ workers. Adams thanked the union and its members for their endorsement.

“I am so proud to receive the endorsement of 32BJ and all of its hard-working members, who are essential to New York City,” said Borough President Adams. “New York’s working people are demanding what they deserve in this election: leadership that gets things done for every day New Yorkers and their families—and that’s what my entire life and my campaign are about. We are building a blue-collar coalition that will deliver results for the New Yorkers who need them the most. When I’m in City Hall, I will continue our fight — 32BJ’s fight — for economic, social, and racial justice.”

The Executive Board of DC37 has also endorsed Adams, Hotel Trades Council, New York State Public Employees Federation, Bridge and Tunnel Officers Benevolent Association, and by a diverse group of local elected officials and leaders, including State Senators Roxanne Persaud and Andrew Gounardes; Assembly Members Inez Dickens, Jaime Williams, and Erik Dilan; Council Members Alicka Ampry-Samuel, Laurie Cumbo, Darma Diaz, Farah Louis, Daneek Miller, Alan Maisel, Francisco Moya and Ydanis Rodriguez; former U.S. Representatives Charles Rangel and Edolphus Towns; and former Bronx Deputy Borough President and longtime Assembly Member Aurelia Greene.
